As I'm watching my daughter I've been thinking about God's timing. In God's timing he used his flesh to carry out the supernatural, The mighty God in Christ carried out miracles and demonstrated a power that has never been seen before, in one man.
People forget that this man's incredible ministry only lasted the span of 3 and 1/2 years and yet has become the greatest story ever told. This ministry started in John 2:1, where Jesus was at a wedding party and was basically asked by his mother to provide more wine for a wedding party. This first act of Jesus was to quench the thirst of those who asked of him. It marked the start of his ministry as he responded to his mother and a situation where he was needed.
His second act of ministry is noted in John 2:14-15 as Jesus purified the Temple and chased out the corrupt who were using it for things other than serving God. These first to actions of his ministry transcended his entire ministry. It's interesting to note that with this ministry came judgment and deliverance. Both judgement and deliverance came at the same time! At this time period, the people who sought out Jesus were healed, delivered or redeemed. Of course those who didn't seek Jesus or disbelieved his words, simply missed their visitation.
Jesus spoke when he had to speak and was never physically hurt by any man before his appointed sacrifice of his flesh. (Even though, his entire life was really a living sacrifice.) Now all of this occurred within His perfect timing, during the last 3 and 1/2 years of His life and the Old Covenant as we know it. Keep in mind these last years ushered in the New Covenant that was established 50 days after his death, when He poured out His Spirit as said in Joel 2:28. (Oneness point, as God pours out Himself!...for those who say the Holy Spirit is a third person)
Now, I've been having some seriously deep thoughts concerning the last days of the church. Could God rise up a remnant, chosen for glory during the last 3 and 1/2 years of the New Covenant, ushering in a similar demonstration of power? Could the last three and 1/2 years be identical in nature where those who are thirsty be given drink and those who are not seeking after God miss their visitation? Will this call out judgment on all religions and or churches to come out of confusion and be purified?
According to God's timing, Jesus great work did not start until his final 3 and 1/2 years. Before this time, the only thing of note mentioned in His word was that he had an ability to teach from Torah and he also recruited 12 men to assist him in his work. It's interesting to note that 12 X 12,000 is 144,000. The book of Revelation tells us that there will be 144,000 who are sealed in God before the great tribulation.
(Revelation 7:3–8)
Is the story of the second coming of Jesus, who will be in operating in full power, be a story of His authority within His people? (Those IN Christ, his body or church) Is it possible that His church who has been asleep for so long, forgot who she was and what she was waiting for? The church must wake up and I believe a period of trail is the only thing that will wake her up. In fact, Micah 4:9 confirms this, only in trial will the woman wake up and request her God. What's interesting is how God responds, "Is your King not IN you?"
Now it doesn't say that "Don't wait pretty dear, I will come back for you so you won't have to experience any trial." Yet this is the interpretation so many "churches" like to tell people. Instead of saying "I'm coming back for you?" In Micah 4:9 God basically infers, "I"M IN YOU."
If we continue reading in Micah and get to Micah 4:13, we read that he will give Israel (His true body) power, and in Micah 5:7, it gives us an idea that a remnant shall be in complete unity, sold out and used for His glory. This idea is something that God has been showing me and I believe it's on point. In fact if you go to Daniel 11:32, we have a confirmation of his word. Daniel 11:32 tells us that there most definitely be a remnant of His people who truly know their God, and because they know their God, they will do great exploits on his behalf!
On another note, in Jewish thought the number 7 is known as God's number. According to the Bible the number 7 also signifies completion. So what happens when we take 3 and 1/2 years and add it to another 3 and 1/2 years? Guess what number we get? Yup, the number 7! Could the final 3 and 1/2 years of the New Covenant Church age, be the final 3 and 1/2 years and completion of the ministry of Jesus Christ, the Mighty God in flesh? Is it possible that the church remnant goes through such a fiery trial of purification and shares such a sorrow with God himself that it is exulted to carrying out the completed ministry of God himself!
God already defeated Satan as a single man, will he now completely destroy him through his bride? Now I have never heard these ideas taught like this. I believe that scripture points to this happening and it all fits together much better than the traditional, non spirit filled view of eschatology.
